Book Review – Molly Moon’s Incredible Book of Hypnotism

I was hooked from the cover.  I know we’re not supposed to judge a book by it’s cover, but how could you not love a book with a hypnotized pug staring at you?

Molly is an orphan at Hardwick House in Briersville, where no one except her friend Rocky seems to like her.  She is never quite able to do anything right and is always late.  Then there’s the fact that the skin on her legs looks like mottled SPAM, her words not mine.    Molly  witnesses a strange encounter between librarian and the nasty American man about a book on hypnotism, which the American was willing to pay big bucks for.  Somehow the book was lost in the library.   Molly finds the book hidden on the shelves and unlocks the secrets to hypnotism.  She soon discovers she can make people do whatever she wants, even mean Mrs. Adderstone.

I am a fan of silly characters and nonsense,  where the underdog comes out the hero.  If that’s the type of book you like, you’ll love “Molly Moon’s Incredible Book of Hypnotism” by Georgia Byng.
