First Manuscript for the 12×12 in ’12 Challenge

Well, I entered the 12×12 in ’12 Challenge late, but I managed to squeak out my first manuscript.  The working title is, “Jerry, the Boy Who Cried Monster.”   Here is a thumbnail sketch of one of Jerry’s monsters:

The Monster that ate Jerry's homework.

I don’t want to give too much of the story away, but Jerry has a big problem – or should I say a lot of problems.  Being a kid with a wild imagination Jerry blames everything on the monsters.  In the end the reader of the story is left with one big question, are Jerry’s monsters real or part of his overactive imagination.  Now onto my manuscript for February…

Sounds like a fun story. Love the sketch.

    Thanks Carrie!

  3. Cool idea. I’d like to see it in print. Love your new “look”. Who is powering this blog. Did you custom design it?

  4. Sally says:

Thanks Helena. I found the template on WordPress (after a massive search). I wrote a blog post on Three29 Media – they are powering my blog, giving me my own URL. I can get you their contact info if you want it.

Thanks Bill. I searched a long time for this template. Don’t worry about polishing your draft – it’s all part of the challenge to just finish the manuscript, it doesn’t have to be perfect. You might check out http://RateYourStory.blogspot.com – Guess what they are doing? Rating your story 😉

  6. Well done, Sally! I eked out my January draft at the last moment, and have been eyeing Rate Your Story…but I think I’ll save it for when I do a draft in verse, which is more my comfort zone. Love your monster!

  7. Congrats on putting a check box in January! 🙂
